“Rinse the cottage cheese.” A legendary triathlete was known to have used this as a component of his intense training regimen. During training he would bike 75 miles, swim 20,000 meters, and run 17 miles, on average, every single day. With that kind of exercise, we know he did not have a weight problem. He simply wanted every competitive edge possible. Rinsing the cottage cheese would remove any excess fat. Hebrews 12 challenges us to “lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” What is keeping us from enjoying the edge in the race that God has given us to run? I am convicted when I see the dedication of a world class athlete. I hope I am willing to rid myself of that which hinders me from the race that God has given me to run. The accomplishments of that athlete are impressive, even legendary. As Christians, we are running to impact eternity. Run well. Rinse the cottage cheese.
